WWE 2K23 is an upcoming 2023 professional wrestling sports video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It is the twenty-third overall installment of the video game series based on WWE, the tenth game under the WWE 2K banner, and the successor to WWE 2K22. The game is slated to be released on March 17, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. This is the first WWE video game since WWE 2K14 to include double title entrances, and the first WWE 2K game ever to have WarGames as a playable match type. After being absent from the series for 6 years, Cody Rhodes is scheduled to return as a playable character.
Players who pre-order any edition of WWE 2K23 will receive Bad Bunny as a playable character. The Deluxe Edition of the game includes three-day early access, Season Pass, The MyRISE Mega-Boost Pack, The Supercharger Pack, and MyFaction cards. The Icon Edition includes all Deluxe Edition content, the Ruthless Aggression Content Pack (featuring early versions of John Cena, Batista, Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton) and the Icon Edition Content Pack.
Like the previous game, WWE 2K23 has a hybrid of arcade and simulation style of gameplay. WarGames will be making its debut for the first time in any WWE game. The game modes that are confirmed is MyFaction, MyGM, Showcase, MyRise and an Creation Suite. 2K Showcase Mode returned as Showcase, featuring cover superstar John Cena, allowing players to play through the biggest moments of his WWE career. The 2K Showcase mode incorporates new features and updates including to fight John Cena in the mode. By progressing through, players are able to unlock new characters, attires, and arenas. In WWE 2K23, MyFACTION returns. In it, players are able to build a wrestling stable by collecting, managing, and upgrading WWE wrestlers with regular updates and weekly events. MyFACTION features player cards from throughout WWE's history. Community creations in the creation suite have cross-platform support for users who are signed in to a verified 2K account. Custom images can also be used in character select screens, which allowing the player to put their own photo(s) on screen.
